The first book Ducky remembers reading was Alien Encounters, in the Time Life Mysteries of the Unknown series and from there he was hooked for the rest of his life. While he participated in all manner of "legend-tripping" in his life, he began actively investigating the paranormal in 2004 when he formed a small group in El Paso, Tx. Once he moved to Houston he wasted no time finding other groups to join, finally finding a home with WHPS.
For the first 21 years of his interest in the paranormal he was an avid believer, a "Mulder" if you will. He now finds himself a skeptical believer, not having any experience that he was unable to dismiss as either a trick of the mind or normal logical explanation.
He has an interest in more than just ghosts though. Having a passionate interest in UFOs (both alien and man-made), cryptozoology, conspiracy theories and anything weird and wonderful.
Being skeptical is not about disproving the existence of paranormal phenomena, but about seeking to find the truth about their cause through questioning the experience and examining the possible natural causes.
