Along with the other locations in Gettysburg that I had mentioned previously, this location was an amazing opportunity for us. Brad Klinge gave us his own history tour of the battlefields and we got the chance to get out, step onto this historic space and use our equipment.
In awe, I stood listening to Brad talk about his experiences in Gettysburg as well as stories of the battle that took place here. It was almost too difficult for me to even want to try to capture evidence of the past on audio because of the feelings that were coming over my body. Being a sensitive can sometimes be overwhelming in itself. But add to that the bloodshed, the stories...standing there, I couldn't help but feel connected to this space and wanted nothing more than to close my eyes and pray that these soldiers found peace.
In my mind I was envisioning what had happened here and Brad was wonderful at helping me to put a picture of it all in my head. At one point, his strong, forceful voice seemed to just fade away and I heard nothing but silence...sort of my way of paying respect for the lives that were lost here.
